Mountain Bike Series

Update

June 8, 2016
Please pre-register to give us an idea of the number of maps needed.

Mountain bike orienteering is an endurance sport welcoming both orienteering and mountain bike enthusiasts. The most important orienteering skills needed are route choice and map memory.

Lac Beauchamp provides a challenge for the skilled biker but also has trails suitable to the novice participant. As an environmental safeguard, competitors may not leave paths and tracks.

Our 2016 event will be held at Lac Beacuchamp on Sunday June 21.  Everyone is welcome.  There will be 3 courses available: (Distances are 'as the crow flies'.  Actual distances are more.)

  • Novice   ~ 4 km
  • Intermediate ~ 6 km
  • Advanced  ~ 9 km

All courses will be open to runners as well.  As all courses will be on trails this will only be novice/intermediate level orienteering but will provide longer runs for those looking for trail running.
