Summer Solstice Series 2024

Last night completed a close run Summer Solstice Series.  Only 2 points separated the top two runners.  The top 10, after the 4 meets, included 3 women, 7 men, of those  3 youths, 2 new orienteers and our club president.  It looks like our "adjustment system" (previously known as handicap) is working to achieve our goal "Level the playing field and make it possible for anyone who tries their best to win"  We were also looking for some of our more senior members to achieve as well and many of them are in the next set of 10.  Well done everyone.

Our thanks to Marnie Beaubien who didn't hesitate to accept the volunteer task of feeding the crowd of 60+ hungry orienteers.  Our thanks, as always to Eric Teutsch, who weekly handles our timing system, for this series with the help of Carolyn Duke who has compiled the overall results.

Many thanks as well to all our volunteers for the series - meet directors, controllers, registrars, mini-clinic guides, and those who have helped set-up for the events, take-down, collect controls, update maps and create new ones, give additional help with the timing system ....  it always takes many willing hands.

Full results are now posted.  Note that we had a jacket and a water bottle left behind.  Check our lost and found photos to see if they are yours.
