Bill Anderson and Gord Hunter
Orienteering Canada Hall of Fame

Congratulations to  Bill Anderson and Gord Hunter on being inducted to the Orienteering Canada Hall of Fame!

BillA

Bill, a long-time member of our club, has most recently been working with the Coaching Association of Canada, developing and leading coaching certification training programs nationwide. He is also one of our club's main mappers. Even if you are new to the sport, you have certainly found (or lost) yourself on one of Bill's maps.

GordHGord is a founding member of Orienteering Ottawa. Several of our top elite athletes of the 70s and 80s were introduced to the sport by Gord, many of whom are still active in the sport today. Gord was Canadian elite men’s champion, a member of the National Team during the 70s and competed in 5 World Championships. Gord now splits his time between Ottawa and Florida, where he continues to promote orienteering with much success, most impressively with junior athlete participation.

Hats off to Bill and Gord. Thank you for your dedication and contributions to our sport!
