Day 1: Middle Distance Prologue

Saturday Sept 26th

Day 2: Long Distance Chasing Start

Sunday Sept 27th

What?

Orienteering Ottawa's annual fall orienteering festival, Ottawa O-Fest is at once a fun run, a Canada Cup Series event, the Ontario Championships, a party in the woods, a time with nature...

Last year O-Fest was also the North American Orienteering Championships. This year we are returning to the two-day chasing start format. Saturday will feature a middle distance race followed by a long distance chasing start on Sunday where you have to catch the people who were ahead of you on Saturday.

We are excited to be the 2015 Ontario Orienteering Championships. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 eligible finishers in each of the 24 age categories, based on combined times from Saturday's Middle and Sunday Chase Long events.

But wait, what is orienteering?

Watch this video to get a better idea. You can also find a great description at OttawaOC.ca

When?

O-Fest 2015 will take place the weekend of September 26th - 27th, 2015.

Orienteering Ottawa has lots of other events throughout the year as well. Check out our schedule here.

Where?

O-Fest 2015 will be once again held on the highly technical and enjoyable Carp Ridge as NAOC2014 showed how much you all enjoy that area. We will be using much of the same area as last year but the experience will be completely new because we will be starting from a different 'arena' at the North end of the ridge.

Friday Evening News Bulletin - O-Fest is a GO!

2015-09-25, 7:00 PM

Dear Ottawa O-Fest participant,

The 2015 Ottawa O-Fest/Ontario Championships will go ahead this weekend.  It is with relief that the police informed us  their investigation is complete, the area is safe and secure and we will have time to set up a great weekend of orienteering for you.

Here is the important information:

All starts, including the recreational events and clinics will be delayed by 3 hours: if your original start time was 11:15am your new time is 2:15pm. Your bib will still have your original time.  The start list online, however, has been updated.   Sunday's timing remains as originally scheduled.

We thank you for your patience and understanding and look forward to welcoming you to Ottawa for a great weekend of orienteering and fellowship.

Do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Thursday Evening News Bulletin

2015-09-24, 9:00 PM

Dear Ottawa O-Fest participants,

Access to our event site for the upcoming Ottawa O-Fest is blocked due to a current police investigation. They have informed us that the area will likely be accessible as of Friday evening.  There is a chance that it will not be opened this weekend.  Currently, we are delaying the start times, clinics and rec events on Saturday by 3 hours to allow for adequate set up time.  The police will inform us regarding access as of Friday evening.  Should the area still be quarantined at that time we will unfortunately need to postpone the event until a later date.  We regret this inconvenience but will send you an email Friday evening with an update.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Race Bulletin

The Race Bulletin has all the information you need for race weekend.  Changes made on Thursday or later (eg. Saturday times) are not included in it.

Why?

Why not?

We love the crazy sport of orienteering and want to share that love with you. What better way to do that than with a weekend of competition, food, and friends in one of the nicest times of the year in Ottawa?

That's why our volunteers put thousands of hours into hosting events throughout the year and the O-Fest weekend is no exception. It might be a larger event but we still do it because we love it.
