Ottawa O-Fest 2016
This year, the Orienteering Ottawa organizing team is taking a well deserved break from Ottawa O-Fest . A number of circumstances have combined to help us reach this decision. But we will be back in force next year with the Canadian Orienteering Championships!
We were unable to find a weekend to host our event, due to the plethora of high quality orienteering events in eastern Canada and the northeastern United States in September and October. If you are looking for a great event to attend, we encourage you to support our neighbour club, the Montreal Ramblers as they host the Quebec Championships on October 1 and 2.
Also, the 2016 North American Championships are being held in New Hampshire September 23 to 25. There will be a good sized contingent from Ottawa there as well. Join us!
And, if you are looking for a special event in Ottawa, we would love to see you at our annual Challenge the GATS event - a 3 and 6 hour Rogaine in our wonderful Gatineau Park.
Our season off of organizing a big meet gives us extra time to think about the 2017 Canadian Championships which we will be hosting August 4 to 6 next summer. And a special year it will be - the 50th Canadian Championships, Orienteering Canada's 50th anniversary, and Canada's 150th birthday! Plan on joining us in Ottawa!
But wait, what is orienteering?
