Livelox

Livelox is a web utility provided by Orienteering Canada which is designed to give orienteers the ability to upload (GPS) or draw and share their routes. Add your courses to the App, watch how others tackled your course, see the other courses of the day and even provide live tracking to follow you on course for familly and friends.

What do I need

A free Livelox account - go to livelox.com to register.

To record your route you can use one of the following:
  • A GPS devise - such as a Garmin watch, Strava or others to track your route.
  • An app on your cell phone that you carry with you while you run and can use for live tracking if you wish
  • You can also draw the route by hand.

How do I get my Garmin Connect course up to Livelox?

Link your Garmin Connect Account to your Livelox Account. Once this is set, every course you download to Garmin will automatically be synchronized in Livelox.

You are all set. You can now go to Livelox, and view and analyze routes.

From the Livelox Start Page   (click on the Livelox logo)

click on 'My Events' to go to the start of your own events or select other courses or participants.

After the completion of an Orienteering Ottawa event, the maps and results will be uploaded to the Livelox website where runners can view the courses, select up to 10 competitors from a course and replay the race by simulating a “Mass Start”. If you have a GPS watch and have recorded your race, you can upload this to the site and view your actual route – not the one you thought you did! Or try drawing your route from memory and then uploading your GPS file to compare. Once you have analyzed your own route, how about seeing the routes of other runners and comparing choices.
