2018 Ottawa O-Fest

Ontario Championships & Quebec Cup

Orienteering Ottawa is proud to host the 2018 Ontario Orienteering Championships as this year's Ottawa O-Fest. We are also pleased to let you know that O-Fest this year will be a Canada Cup Series event, so if you're competitive, do join us! And if you are a recreational participant, don't hesitate, O-Fest is for you too!

O-Fest 2018 will take place on the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, October 6 to 8. There will be 4 events - Sprint, Middle, and Long distance races and a sprint relay - with Ontario Championships medals being awarded to the top three eligible finishers in in the elite and junior categories.  Age categories 35+ will be awarded a 1st place medal only.

Last year O-Fest was the Canadian Championships. This year, for the Middle and Long events,  we are returning to the two-day chasing start format. Saturday will feature a middle distance race followed by a long distance chasing start on Sunday where you have to catch the people who were ahead of you on Saturday.  Monday will feature the sprint event on a completely new map, followed by a fun sprint relay (2 or 4 people) on the same map.

Updates to our site

2018-03-18

As we plan our weekend we will be updating this site and will let you know here what is new. Keep in touch.

Why?

Why not?

We love the crazy sport of orienteering and want to share that love with you. What better way to do that than with a weekend of competition, food, and friends in one of the nicest times of the year in Ottawa?

That's why our volunteers put thousands of hours into hosting events throughout the year and the O-Fest weekend is no exception. It might be a larger event but we still do it because we love it.
