Spring Events and Programs 2021

Spring is well on it's way! Normally that means the start of orienteering season in a month but with COVID still very much a reality things are going to look pretty different again this spring.

Orienteering Ottawa's Board of Directors met last week to discuss the situation and we are wanting to wait another few weeks to see if Ottawa is aiming for a third wave or if we can keep the situation under control. Here's where things stand right now for the spring:

Sunday Morning Spring Series Events:
Unless the COVID situation worsens, we are intending to run our events in the same way we ran them in the fall last year. Members only, pre-registration required, and with various COVID adjustments. Stay tuned for more. We expect to have more information at the beginning of April.

Youth and Basics and Beyond Programs:
We are hoping we can run these programs in May and June in both the East and West end of the city. We will make a decision and a plan at the end of March.

Thursday Orienteering Practices:
These orienteering training sessions should be manageable with COVID if we aren't back in lockdown. We would make a decision on this program at the end of March. Practices would run through May and June.

Racing Programs:
We are actively working on figuring out just what we can do for our competitive athletes including those in the club's Train to Train Program. If this is of interest to you please send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we will follow up with you directly.

We hope everyone has been staying safe (and staying sane!) and hope to see you sooner rather than later!
